When we started rivet production in Turkey as Micro Rivet, the rivets made of pipes dominated the market. The body of the standard pop rivet is made of aluminum wire filled with special alloys. Special automatic cold form machines cut the appropriate length of the full aluminum wire; the cut aluminum wire by hitting the piece with high pressure, pushing the material inside the wire out of the rivet by plastering it into the rivet’s hat (flange). The rivet nail is also produced from special alloy steel wire. After the rivet body and nails are cleaned from the oils and undergone special surface operations, they are combined into fully automatic merge machines. How to Understand Shoddy Pop Rivet? Shoddy rivets are produced by cutting unalloyed aluminum pipes instead of aluminum wire filled inside and curling the head with a simple press. That’s why the hat parts are irregular. The robust and long-lasting lengthof riveting depends on the alloy of the aluminum used and the strength provided by the plastering style production. Shoddy rivets tend to break even in very small vibrations.
